Manneken Pis

''Manneken Pis'' (, meaning "Little man Pee" in Dutch) is a landmark small bronze sculpture (61 cm) in Brussels, depicting a naked little boy urinating into a fountain's basin. It was designed by Hiëronymus Duquesnoy the Elder and put in place in 1618 or 1619.〔Naomi Miller, ''Fountains as Metaphor'' from ''Fountains, Splash and Spectacle, Water and Design from the Renaissance to the Present'', edited by Marilyn Symmes, Thames and Hundson and Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum, Smithsonian Institution. 1998〕
